Ya pretty sure you can play any of the guitar hero games with any of the guitars. you can even play gh3 with the gh2 guitar.
the guitars are compatible with with all of the guitar hero games.
I have used my GH3 controller with the regular GH2 game. Guitar Hero Rocks the 80’s is the exact same thing as GH2 with different songs (not a true “different version” of the game), so it should work fine. Best of luck!
P.S.: I also use the wireless Kramer controller.
